Privacy Policy for Silsigan

Silsigan ("the App") is a real-time speech translation app. This policy describes what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Collect

Device identifier

The App creates an anonymous account on first launch. On Android this is derived from the device's ANDROID_ID; on iOS it is a stable identifier stored in the Keychain. It is used to:

• Keep your remaining translation minutes across app launches and reinstalls
• Sync saved sessions
• Credit in-app purchases to the correct account

It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or Google account. A short customer ID shown in the App can be copied if you contact support about a purchase.

Saved sessions

When you save a transcription session, the text (transcription and translation) is uploaded to our server for cloud sync. This allows your sessions to persist if you reinstall the App.

Activity timestamps

The App records when you last opened it and when you last started a recording. These timestamps are stored alongside your device identifier on our server.

Purchases

If you buy additional minutes, Apple or Google (depending on the store) processes the payment. We receive a product identifier and a purchase receipt via RevenueCat so we can credit minutes to your account. We do not receive your full card number or store password.

Data That Stays on Your Device

• Audio recordings are saved locally on your device and are never uploaded to our server.
• Local database of sessions is stored on-device using SQLite.

Third-Party AI Processing

Speech-to-text and translation provider

To provide real-time translation, the App shares your personal data with a third-party AI service provider:

• What is shared: the voice audio captured by your microphone while you are recording, and the text transcribed from that audio.
• Who it is shared with: a third-party speech-to-text and machine-translation service. Audio is routed through our own secure server, which forwards it to this provider. You can review the provider's own privacy practices in their privacy policy.
• How it is used: solely to transcribe your speech and translate it in real time. The audio is processed in real time and is not stored by the provider after processing, and it is not used to train models on your data.
• When it is shared: only after you grant permission on first launch and only while you are actively recording. No audio is sent at any other time.

Payments

Purchases go through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat. Those services process payment data under their own policies.

Your consent

On first launch the App shows a disclosure screen explaining what data is sent and to whom, and asks for your agreement before any audio is shared. You can withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App and deleting it.

Android background recording

On Android, while you are recording, the App runs a microphone foreground service and may show a persistent notification so capture can continue if you leave the App. That notification is not used for advertising.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email, or account credentials
• Location data
• Contacts or phone number
• Analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data
• Photos, files, or any content outside the App

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete any saved session from within the App at any time. Deleting a session removes it from both your device and our server. If you uninstall the App, your local data (including audio recordings) is deleted. To request deletion of all server-side data, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
